What to send in your first message

You don't need to have it all figured out. But the more of these you include up front, the faster I can give you a real quote instead of a price range.

1. The type of project

   Comic, character, cover, children's book, educational material. If you're not sure of the format yet, describe the idea and I'll help define the scope.

2. The size

   How many illustrations, how many pages, how many characters. This is what weighs most on the quote.

3. The deadline

   When you need the artwork in hand. If you have a launch, a print run or a campaign date, tell me which.

4. References

   Images of the style you have in mind. They can be by any artist — they're there so I understand the direction, not to copy.

5. Where it will be used

   Printed book, game, social media, packaging, campaign. This defines resolution, delivery format and usage licence.
